My Mother Taught Me How to Knit, My Grandfather Sent Me a Knitting Nancy For Christmas
Most knitters start with a scarf when they learn how to knit. Sometimes you have extra stitches, sometimes you drop one, and sometimes you actually get it finished! Can you remember what you fist learned to knit on and who taught you?
When we were kids my grand parents would send us stamps, first day covers, jewellery making kits, art books, musical catalogues and other inspirational things over from Melbourne to help counteract our perceived lack of cultural experiences in an isolated rural community.
These works were exhibited around the grounds of the Grammar School while the Textile Event Fibreswest was taking place.
