Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe, 2012 .

Thought Process.

The work is an abstract representation of the evolution of a concept, it starts out wide then focuses in and from there results an explosion of sideways responses, a tool for seeing.

This is a work about art itself and the process of making art. I was thinking about how art ideas are generated and the thought process that an artist goes through when they are creating a piece of work, right from the start to the finish. The ideas are broad and many to start with, then they narrow down to one specific concept and from that single concept more concepts will then evolve. The ring around the centre of the sculpture aludes to outside influences.
